OPENING PRAYERS AND REMARKS | Dr. Gary Zola, Chair of the Commission to Commemorate 350 Years of American Jewish History, served as guest chaplain offering the opening prayer to the U.S. House of Representatives on September 21, 2004 and to the U.S. Senate on May 26, 2005. On September 8th, 2004 Dr. Zola spoke at the opening of the "Haven to Home Exhibit" in Washington D.C. On Sept. 14th 2005, Dr. Zola gave the Invocation at the National Dinner Celebrating 350 Years of Jewish Life in America.

ABOUT THE COMMISSION | The Commission for Commemorating 350 Years of American Jewish History is a collaborative project involving The Jacob Rader Marcus Center of the American Jewish Archives, The American Jewish Historical Society, The Library of Congress, and the National Archives & Records Administration. The Commission exists to generate and support activities that will advance the understanding of the American Jewish Experience as it marks this significant anniversary.

FROM HAVEN TO HOME Library of Congress Exhibit
An exhibit telling the story of 350 years of American Jewish life in America opened at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. on September 9, 2004. The exhibit features rare, original documents, photographs, film, manuscripts, and other historical materials.
